Strawberry Festival Saturday March 12, 2010

Although we didn't get any pictures we had a great time.
We got there around 11 and watched the lumber jacks perform, until Hamish decided he was done and was off to see everything else. It was full of people and we had our build your own strawberry shortcakes before the lines got crazy. Which an hour later they were! Good timing for us as Hamish has just started to eat strawberries in the last 3 wks. Now he askes for strawberries and tangerine each night after dinner.

We walked around and found the expo tent which was just packed! We did not stay in there long. Then it was time for lunch; too much to choose from and none of it good for you. Hamish shared bits of Abu & Sirs kabobs and then ate an entire ear of corn. Then it was time to watch the pig races. Of course, we caught the last race and Hamish seemed to enjoy the view from Sir's shoulders. We took our turn at tossing the football for a prize. Hamish was just happy chasing the ball and bringing back to the next person, until he got his own mini football. Then we played catch and waited to watch the motorcyles in a cage and the woman do acrobatics 80 ft in the air - on a windy day. After about 5 minutes Hamish just didn't want to watch anymore and asked for "no more acrobatics."

So we headed out and gathered the last of our treasures. Abu got a strawberry pie, Sir picked up the dog tags, and Hamish and I got deep fried chocolate chip cookie dough balls. Being pregnant I thought it was a one time splurge, and was right. While the first one or two were great, the rest of the day was not and I will not have them again. Hamish loved the day of over indulging and promptly passed out on the way home. I guess we both went into a sugar coma.

Strawberry Festival was something to see, glad we went. Thanks Abu and Sir for a nice day.
